Dr. Bjorn Leiren

Dr. Bjorn Leiren has more than 35 years of experience assessing candidates for hire, promotion and development. During his career, he has assessed thousands of individuals for hire, promotion, and professional development.

Dr. Leiren completed his undergraduate and master’s programs at California State University, Los Angeles, and went on to complete his Doctorate at Simon Fraser University. He began his post-doctoral career on the faculty of the Claremont Colleges in California, after which he took the position of Chief of Personnel Research with the Government of the U.S. Virgin Islands. He returned to Canada in 1980, worked as an in-house corporate psychologist with the B. C. School Trustees Association and, in 1984, formed his own consulting firm: B. Leiren Associates Inc.

Dr. Leiren has lectured in psychology at the undergraduate and graduate levels in both Canada and United States. He has published a number of articles and two books on related topics, one book focused on employee selection and the other on employee performance management.

In February 2019, Dr. Leiren stepped down as President of B. Leiren Associates Inc. to enjoy his long earned retirement years.  He remains on as an Associate in the new incarnation of the firm as BLA.
